Kiana Lodge is seriously one of my dream places to document a wedding! So last summer when Kelsey & Katie reached out to me about documenting their wedding at Kiana Lodge I jumped at the chance! The couple had seen my previous work through their friends Kayla & Marijo’s wedding 2 years ago out in Gig Harbor. Katie was Marijo’s maid of honor and Marijo was Katie’s for her wedding.

Kiana Lodge is right on the Puget Sound in Poulsbo, WA right by the bridge to get over to Bainbridge Island. The property is made up of two very PNW feeling building and has a beautiful lawn with two different options for ceremony spots! There is even a little pond too!

Katie & Kelsey’s wedding was a rare day wedding which I have only done a few of but it was seriously so perfect! It was a cloudy morning giving us beautiful even light for portraits and their ceremony. The couple had chosen to do a first look and this is one of the best first looks I think I have had EVER! When we had met to talk details I asked who would wait for who and they decided that Katie would wait for Kelsey to come.

When I asked Kelsey what she wanted to do for the reveal she said she was going to walk up and squeeze Katie well going with the flow I sat back and watched this magic happen. This pure moment of love and joy came out and I am seriously getting teary eyed as I write this! It was so amazing and I hope that I can get a couple to do a first look similar to this one because it really is one of the best moments of my career so far I have to say!

After some portraits of the couple and family & bridal party, it was time for the ceremony. The couple was admitted about having an unplugged ceremony and having all their friends and family present during their vows. Thanks to their officiant this actually happened and it was such a wonderful emotional ceremony to document. After I do’s and their official first kiss as a married couple it was time for the couple to celebrate with their friends and family.

Katie & Kelsey’s wedding was filled with so much love and support for these two ladies. I truly felt so honored to be part of this beautiful day and I can’t wait to share their photos with the world!
