Mount Rainier is such an iconic place of the PNW that I have had 2 couples come to Mount Rainier to get married. Carissa & James had been to Washington a few years ago and really wanted to come back here to get married in the shadow of Mount Rainier. This has been my 5th elopement/wedding at Mount Rainier!

So a few weeks before Carissa & James’ big day I went scouting for a place for their ceremony and some of their photos. I found a perfect spot with a very large rock with the mountain behind them. It was a perfect spot!

OK so for the 2nd year in row wildfires have affected one of my elopements. Sadly August has now become the month of smoke… A few days before their elopement the smoke came in and didn’t leave. We hoped the smoke would have been lower but sadly it wasn’t. This was so disappointing, but we weren’t going to let it ruin the day and I was determined to give them the best photos!

“I found Jenny through a Pinterest post which led me to her blog and Instagram. I knew immediately that I wanted to hire her. I booked her before we even planned anything for the wedding haha! We visited Seattle a few years prior and fell in love with Washington State. We didn’t visit Mt. Rainier but we just knew that we wanted our elopement to be there. Jenny went above and beyond with helping and planning the perfect spot- she went and scoped the park out days before the big day. Arriving at the park early- she offered to go ahead and get started and didn’t charge me for additional time. How amazing is that!?
Unfortunately, our wedding just happened to be the same time the wildfires came in. It was super smoky and most of the mountain wasn’t visible. We were staying in Seattle through the remainder of our honeymoon and she offered to come back out days later if the smoke cleared because she wanted us to get the mountains in the background. I can’t tell you how much that meant to us! Even after a long evening of hiking and driving back to her home, she still managed to send me sneak peeks so I could send them back home to my family that couldn’t be there with us. I totally recommend anyone to her for their photos. She’s very helpful and easy to communicate with!”
