The Penguins of Boulders Beach

The following blog took place in April 2007 while I was living in Cape Town, South Africa: So one of my very first days in Cape Town I had an opportunity to travel to Boulders Beach near Simon’s Town on the Western Cape of South Africa. What makes Boulders Beach special is the colony of African Penguins that live there. These penguins are also called Jackass Penguins because of the sound they make sounds exactly like a donkey. What’s very cool about this place is your walking on a boardwalk above the beach and all the penguins are below you along with their nests. I traveled to this place several times during my trip but my first time was definitely my favorite due to the pictures I captured. I truly love going back and looking at these pictures from my amazing 3 months in Cape Town. Check out my other previous blog posts about African Elephants in Botswana & getting to spend an hour with some Baby Cheetahs which was truly a once in a lifetime experience. photos of the African penguins at Boulder Beach in South Africaphotos of the African penguins at Boulder Beach in South Africaphotos of the African penguins at Boulder Beach in South Africaphotos of the African penguins at Boulder Beach in South Africaphotos of the African penguins at Boulder Beach in South Africaphotos of the African penguins at Boulder Beach in South Africa
