Pinup Themed Portrait Session at Shake Shake Shake
To date this portrait session is my favorite!!!! Jana approached me with an idea, a wonderful amazing idea that I couldn’t wait to document. As a gift for her husband she wanted to photography herself and two daughters in a pin-up themed portrait session at a 40’s style diner. This was the 3rd time I have photographed this family. Jana and her husband are in the military and both times I have photographed them it’s after Jana or her husband have gotten back from a deployment.
The one good thing about Pinterest is the visual ideas. Jana had a put up lots of idea for me and also examples she could show her daughters since kids need pictures especially when your trying to get to do something so specific. Jana was amazing coming up a with location idea and eventually deciding on Shake Shake Shake in Tacoma. She had her and the girl’s hair and makeup done by the wonderful Kat Green Makeuplove. We planned to go first thing right when they opened hoping it wouldn’t be too busy. Jana had two parts to her shoot one in Shake Shake Shake and one on a motorcycle. She found a wonderful gentleman at work to loan us his motorcycle for 5 minutes to get photos of the 3 of them on it.
Once we were done on the motorcycle Jana and the girls changed in their dresses and we did the main part of their shoot. Thankfully Shake Shake Shake wasn’t too busy that day so we could take up part of the restaurant for the shoot especially by the Eat sign. In the end the girls were awesome, the food was great and the whole look turned out amazingly! I feel like this entire session show off girl power and a beautiful mother and daughters doing a fun activity together! A special thanks to Shake Shake Shake for letting us use your amazing dinner and sign for this shoot!
