This fall Rattlesnake Lake engagement session is one of my favorites. Kelly and Steven are getting married next March and Kelly really wanted to have their session during our beautiful fall colors. The day we planned for their shoot was a chance of rain but after looking at the weather report we looked to be OK since the rain was supposed to show up when we were scheduled to be done. Rattlesnake lake is mostly famous for its amazing hike and ledge where lots of photographers get some awesome shots but the problem with getting to the ledge and shooting up there is one is a pretty popular hike because it’s only about a mile long so there are lots of people and it’s also a pretty steep hike. So as I would love to do some photos up there it takes the right couple, but that being said the area around the like is pretty amazing too I actually really love it. Kelly and Steven were dressed perfect for their engagement session and perfect for the background of the foliage.
This couple is so much fun I had the chance to ride up to Rattlesnake Lake with them so I could get to know both of them a little bit better, it was a fun car ride for sure. I found out that Kelly actually knew Steven was going to be asking her she just didn’t know when. He kept telling her it wouldn’t be till October so she didn’t expect him to ask her at a family birthday party celebrating both of their birthdays. They each had one present to open & what Kelly didn’t know was Steven’s present was actually her ring. So she was completely shocked and surprised by the timing.
Kelly trusted me and so they were pretty much down for doing anything including getting on a huge stump so I could get some photos of them up there. I think my ultimate favorite of their session is Kelly’s ring shot. The leaf and with them kissing in the background made it perfect. I am so excited for their wedding in Gig Harbor this coming March it should be a great day.
