Sarah & Paul’s wedding was definitely a memorable one! One of the most important things to them was to have their kids be there and part of the day. Sarah & Paul had their wedding at The Heritage Room in Olympia, Washington. What made this wedding even more fun was the theme, Sounders FC this family are die-hard soccer fans including the Sounders. That included Blue and Green dresses & soccer balls for the guest books. So this year was the first year I had to deal with rain on my couple’s wedding day. When Sabra & I arrived in Olympia it was dumping but we knew that it was supposed to clear up just a matter of when was the question. We decided to do the couples first look at the waterfront in case of rain. While doing the pictures the skies opened up and we all got wet! What we didn’t know was just north of us in DuPont, Washington a waterspout touched down. That’s right a tornado, something that rarely happens here in Western Washington. Very quickly we moved back to The Heritage Room’s new meeting room with a very cool white couch and a great view of the capitol building where we got some amazing photos! And then the sun finally made is appearance just in time for the ceremony! We got a few more photos outside then it was show time.
Sarah & Paul decided to have an Unplugged wedding which is always welcomed on my end, except for the few family members using their Ipad’s to broadcast the wedding for Paul’s family in Australia who couldn’t make the trip for the wedding. After the ceremony they enjoyed some delicious food, the couples first dance, lots of speeches & Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances it was time for us to go. It was a great day with some wonderful memories captured.
I LOVE that this couple chose an unplugged wedding! Really lets the guests focus on what is important, and allows the professional to do their job 🙂 The Heritage Room looks so warm and inviting, that light is just lovely!

The Heritage room is a beautiful place for a wedding! You made the pictures unique and special with your photography perspective. There are so many special little moments you got, but I especially love the one where the couple is almost kissing with the bay in the background and her bouquet in the foreground. This wedding is a perfect example of why a bride and groom should hire a professional. There are no do-overs in case of rain. It takes talent, experience and professional equipment to capture a wedding as beautifully as you did with rain.
