Mansion on Broadway Wedding

Weddings

This wedding had a special connection to me. The groom Quincy I have known since 7th grade English class. Quincy is a rapper AKA Q Dot he has been banging on drums or desk as it was in our class as far as I can remember. Over the years Quincy has always been super supportive of my photography and taking me up on anytime to be my model. So when Quincy asked me last January if I would be his wedding photographer before he had pop the big question to his wonderful wifey Whitni I couldn’t say no. Whitni & Quincy tied the knot at the Mansion on Broadway here downtown Tacoma. What main this wedding so sweet is that Quincy not only was adding Whitni to his family but he was also adding Kash Whitni’s 2-year-old son who Quincy has been part of his life since he was 3 months old. The couple also welcomed Quinnli over the summer just 10 days after my own daughter was born. So I hope the girls will grow up to be great friends. During the ceremony Quincy & Whitni were including Kash since he was also getting Quincy’s last name after Quincy officially adopted Kash as his own.

When showing up on the big day Whitni was getting ready with the help of her bridesmaids and they had just finished making the most unique bouquets I had ever seen adding paper flowers to the real pink roses.  After getting in her beautiful Princess inspired gown we got ready for the couples first look! Quincy so far had the best reaction of any groom I have ever seen even making Whitni shed a few tears over how much he was excited to see her. After a lovely time doing the couples photos I went into doing the guys. And what a bunch of great guys they were! I knew also knew 2 of them from High School as well. The guys were enjoying “groom juice” as they were calling it so of course I had to get a few pictures of that. I had the best time photographing the guys, they had me dying in laughter during their photos.

After pictures it was almost time for show time! Quincy’s mother actually was their officiant singing a song she had written for the couple as Whitni walked down the aisle with her father. The ceremony was short and sweet and at the end after their first kiss as Mr. & Mrs. They did the sand ceremony where Whitni & Kash did one color and Quincy did another, symbolizing them becoming at family. Quincy talked about how important Kash was to him and even though he wasn’t blood he was Quincy son. It was very sweet and a great moment to be a part of.

After dinner Matron of honor and best man gave their speeches and  we did some fun photos of the bridal party then it was time for cutting the cake & blueberry crisp, Quincy’s ultimate favorite is anything blueberry! So of course there was a blueberry crisp for him! The rest of the evening was filled with drinks and dancing! It was such a great day and so happy to be part of Whitni & Quincy’s wedding!
