The only time I get Derek interested in me or my camera. He was one tough cookie probably my most challenging toddler yet but super cute!One of my favorites of mommy and son!One of my favorite things to do with kiddos and they all seem to love it!

So I always get a little nervous when photographing a family that has a little ones under the age of two. The adorable Hill family and I met a Fort Steilacoom Park in September to update their family portraits. Derek who was 18 months at the time and Shane age four gave me a run for my money. Derek really didn’t want to sit still because who can blame you at that age, if I can walk or run in his case I might as well do that (there is too many new things to discover, especially at a park). The only way we could really keep Derek happy was if Dad was swinging him or throwing him up in the air. Shane on the other hand really loved getting his photo taken but was very interested in telling me about animals he liked and about his school. In the end it was a great morning at the park with some wonderful photos for the family and even some of Mom and Dad (kid free)!
