I love backyard weddings and this one at Lake Sawyer didn’t disappoint. Marci & Chris were so lucky to have a family friend who lived right on Lake Sawyer out in Black Diamond and was willing to open up their home to allow the couple to have their wedding right on the lake. All leading up to their wedding it was threatening rain and even rained the few days before but on the day after a few random showers it turned out to be a beautiful early summer June day. Marci and Chris wanted to have a great party and that included having 18 of their closest friends & siblings as their bridal party that’s right 20 people total including Marci & Chris! This was my largest bridal party I have had to date and I was a little nervous coordinating 20 people but it worked out and I had a blast. The ceremony was officiated by Marci’s Uncle adding to the personal feel of their day wanting to include their friends and family as part their wedding. After the ceremony they enjoyed some yummy food made by friends and family then we did their golden hour photos around the property of the house & on the dock right as the sun was setting! Seriously all day it was gray skies but right as we started their golden hour photos the sun came out and gave us the most beautiful light!!!! I have a few more backyard weddings this year and this was such a great way to start my summer!

Huge shout out to my assistant Laura for taking this amazing photo using a copper pipe to create this amazing sun flare.
