OK, first of all, I have to say if I could have my weather wish for all wedding days I would want the lighting from Nicolette & Robert’s wedding day (minus the rain showers). Their day was a beautiful cloudy June day. And when I say beautiful cloudy day I mean it, photographers here in PNW love us some midday cloud cover because it makes the light all even and it’s very flattering light! Defused light = even light & no harsh shadows!

Anyway, Robert & Nicolette decided on a first look right in the middle of the Point Defiance Park rose garden. Of course, all the roses were in bloom giving some amazing color in the background of their first look and portraits. We also did some amazing photos in the Rose Garden Archway which June and July are prime times for the archway to be in bloom!

After portraits, it was time for their ceremony, thankfully the random rain showers that kept happening during first look and portraits stopped just in time for the ceremony. The couple’s ceremony was unplugged which is always awesome to have so that all guest are present and watching the whole reason they were invited to the wedding. They had a good friend marry them and their ceremony was short and sweet but still full of so much love.

Then we all headed over to the Tacoma Yacht Club for their dinner and reception. The Tacoma Yacht Club is right down the hill from Point Defiance Park and right next to the ferry terminal for Vashon Island. The rest of the evening was filled with fun speeches from Robert’s groomsmen and lots dancing & even a little different twist on a money dance which was so much fun to document.
