Last November when I found out I was going to be shooting James & Anne’s wedding at Red Cedar Farms in Poulsbo, WA I got excited and did a little happy dance! Anne worked hard finding ideas through Pinterest for signage and detail stuff for their big day. She DIY all the signage and decor for their big day!
2 years in the making Anne & James’ planning really showed with all the small details they had, from their own wood being smoked for the BBQ they were serving their guest to the signage Anne made for the decor to the cake stand that James made. This wedding was full of love and personal touches that made it a favorite of mine.
Anne & James really wanted to wait to see each other till the ceremony so all pictures of the future Mr. & Mrs. had to wait till after the ceremony expect one where we hid them behind a door so they couldn’t see one another.
During the ceremony one of the ring bearers got a little bored and decided to go play but what made it even better was he decided he wanted to get James’s attention and started yelling his name. It was by far one of the funniest moments I have witnessed during a ceremony. For their unity ceremony they did a tree ceremony by taking soil from each parent’s house and poured it into the pot of a tree they are planting at their home. After written vowels to each other and a first kiss as husband & wife we documented the signing of the marriage certificate and went right into photos of the newlyweds!
During the reception the happy couple enjoyed their first dance, father daughter dance, mother son dance and James did a dance with his grandmother too. At the end of the night I got an amazing ring shot and an amazing shot of the newlyweds in the grand hallway of Red Cedar as a grand finally for their day!
