Brix Restaurant & Garden Wedding

So this was my first official destination wedding for this 2015 wedding season. I was so excited to head down to Napa, CA for my cousin wedding at Brix Restaurant located in the heart of the Napa Valley. I was planning on attending the wedding as a guest but when my cousin Jan & her future husband Filippo asked me to be the photographer of their very special day I was both so honored and thrilled to be photographing a wedding in such a beautiful place.

I knew was going to be amazing because Jan & Filippo hired the amazing Stephanie from Drake Events to handle all the details and day of planning & coordination to make the day run smoothly. As the day got closer the more details I learned from Jan, the more excited & a little nervous because to date this is probably one of my more fancy weddings the pressure was on. So I reached out to my good friend Lindsey Denman Photography to see if she could come be my second shooter for this very important day, because Lindsey just relocated to the Bay area she jumped at the chance to get some photos for her portfolio as well.

When the big day finally arrived it ended up being a pretty warm day in the mid 90’s, which I wasn’t expecting for late September in Napa, but even with the heat it was perfect day. Jan & Filippo decided not to see each other till the ceremony and I’m so glad they decided on this choice. As you will see Filippo’s reaction to seeing Jan for the first time in her dress was amazing, not a dry eye in the house! After a sweet ceremony in the vineyard at the Brix Restaurant & Garden it was official they were Mr. & Mrs!

During the reception Lindsey & I snuck the couple away for their portraits we hit the light perfectly for some amazing golden hour bride and groom portraits in the vineyards that surround Brix. After their photos we headed back to the reception & then we heard the train. If someone would have gotten video of this moment it they would have seen a bride, groom and photographer running down a vineyard to catch a train. It was pretty funny but we made it and caught the train right before it passed, I was able to get a few shots and even one a great one of people waving to the couple and the couple waving back at the back of the train.

After speeches, officially first dancing & father/daughter & mother/son dance it was time to party!
