Jylian & Michael’s wedding was held at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium here in Tacoma, WA. When talking about this wedding I cannot talk about the weather. One of the things we have to deal with here in the Pacific Northwest in the summer is rain. Not very often but when ever you plan a wedding here you do have to have a plan B in case of rain. After watching the forecast day of the rain was supposed to stop before the ceremony but the entire day was full of down pores and showers.

Jylian wanted to do their first look by the shark tank with the entire bridal party watching. Catching Michael’s reaction seeing Jylian for the first time was amazing. Of course right when we decided to move outside to start photos the sky opened up and we all got caught in a down pour! After finishing up most of the photos inside the rain finally stopped like they had forecast so the ceremony was a go for outside.

When I think back to Jylian & Michael’s ceremony I have to say it was very heart warming and meaningful. They had a co-worker of theirs who was also a minster officiate the ceremony. He asked the guest to raise their hands and send the couple love and prayers while everyone had their hands facing them towards Jylian & Michael. After personal vows and letters to each other they were announced Mr & Mrs. and the real party started.

The reception was in the aquarium part of the zoo, I got to pull Jylian & Michael away so we could do a few shots in front of the shark tank. After speeches and first dances the party started & they danced into the night.

A few moments that are my favorite are Jylian’s something blue which was a family ring that her Aunt gave to her as her something borrowed, blue and old, the group hug right before the bridal party entered the reception and finally Jylian’s dance with her father. It was a great evening and so glad I could be part of it!
