I knew when planning this Tacoma engagement session for Kristin & Tanner it was going to be special. Last month I had documented a wedding at the Point Defiance Rose Garden and it was stunning so I knew when they told me they wanted to do their engagement session at Point Defiance, Five Mile Drive and Ruston Way we would create some stellar photos. I told the couple that they would drive with me once we met at the park and I would just stop randomly along Five Mile at a pretty place where the sun was poking through. After Five Mile we did a few photos at the Point Defiance Rose Garden then headed over to Ruston Way for sunset.
That evening not only did we have some pretty sweet views of Mount Rainier but we also watched the moon rise which is always pretty. Sadly you can never get it as big in person on camera unless you really zoom in on the moon which doesn’t work if are trying to have a couple in the photo too. But I did capture it in a few of my flash-sunset photos which I have been working on slowly to perfect so I can get the pretty sky and background at sunset while my couple is also properly exposed with the flash! (If you didn’t understand what I am talking about just wait till you see the final images.)
So I love a good love story, these two Tanner and Kristin have known each other since Jr. high but didn’t start dating till high school and have been together for almost 8 years! Last December Tanner during a family Christmas get together asked if he and Kristin could take a photo in front of the tree and instead of taking a photo his sister was actually recording the whole thing and he asked her to marry him in front of their families. Of course, she said yes! Now here we are about a month away from their wedding and I’m so excited to share these beautiful engagement photos and can’t wait for their wedding next month!
