I have lived in Washington state my whole life (minus the 3 months I lived in Cape Town, South Africa) but sometimes I forget how beautiful it is here. How we live in a place where the sea and the mountains meet. Not everyone has this, not everyone has green trees year round. Not everyone has epic mountains or waterfalls that you can hike to. Well recently have become aware of how much people love our state & the Pacific Northwest and how they want to come here to get married. And not just any normal, traditional wedding nope they come here to elope. When I say elope I mean let’s go find a mountain top and get married there. Or let’s find a pretty waterfall and get married there. This month alone I have 2 elopements, one from a couple traveling from Florida and the second based out of JBLM and just want a small ceremony with a pretty mountain in the background. So last month I headed down to Wahclella Falls for a styled elopement shoot. Wahclella Falls is such a perfect spot for a waterfall elopement and completely stunning backdrop! Wahclella Falls is a short 1-mile hike in making it super easy for any skill level. As you walk into the gorge there are huge boulders making it a fun place to do some wide angle shots with the falls in the falls as your backdrop. Then as you go over a cute little bridge you arrive in the gorge the main event Wahclella Falls! Our amazing newly engaged couple Jessie & Aaron were awesome and willing to get on huge boulders and then eventually got in the water! Jessie was wearing a beautiful Lulu’s dress we bought for this styled shoot specifically. A flowy bold color dress in front of the green most and greenery and falls was perfect. Adding a flower crown from Dearhouse Collective make it perfect! I would love to head down to Wahclella Falls again for an engagement session or even an elopement! Wahclella Falls is so picturesque and I think so many couples are looking for this kind of backdrop for their Pacific Northwest elopement!
