Rainy Backyard Wedding

Rainy night wedding photos

Lee & Jillian’s backyard wedding was definitely one for the books this year. They got married at Jillian’s Aunt & Uncle’s property located in Mineral, Washington. The day ended up being a pretty rainy one but this wasn’t going to stop the couple from having a great day. Thankfully they were prepared for rain and had a tent and a backup covered location for their ceremony & reception. Lee & Jillian chose not to see each other before the ceremony (which I had a lot of this year) they warned me that there would be tears too (which I also have had a lot of too). I love when couples get emotional and tear up I most of the time do too.

So when it was time to walk down the aisle, sure enough, both Lee & Jillian got emotional which was such a great moment to witness. It was so cute Jillian kept wanting to kiss Lee during the ceremony and she even had to stop their officiant to announce she really wanted to kiss Lee. So they did a high 5 instead it was beyond cute! After their vows and rings, they were announced as Mr & Mrs and finally got to kiss.

One of my favorites photos from their day was them walking back to the house after the ceremony so happy and just glowing!  One thing I loved was even though it was raining this wasn’t going to stop photos, they were determined to have their photos done on the beautiful property they choose to have their backyard wedding at.

The couple really did a ton DIY for this wedding from the flowers to the food! Lee and his brother cooked all the photo the day before and day of the wedding! I really to love being part of backyard wedding where the couples do a much and really put their love into their special day. Jillian & Lee’s wedding was my 3rd backyard wedding for 2016!

At the end of the night, I really wanted to do another rainy portrait for them and it’s again one of my many favorites from this year of such beautiful weddings!

Congratulations to Lee & Jillian your day was beautiful and thank you for letting me be part of it!

Lee & Jillian wrote cards to one another and open them before the ceremony.

Always a fan of unplugged ceremonies!

Lee had happy tears once he saw Jillian in her dress for the first time!

After ceremony glow is my favorite on a wedding day!

I love capturing the after ceremony photos because the couples just have this happy glow after their ceremony. These are some of my favorites this year!

Lee & Jillian embraced the rainy day.
