My last wedding of 2019 really ended with a bang at Rock Creek Garden! Emily and Broderick are high school sweethearts and lucked out getting their dream wedding on their dating anniversary! I call that a win-win! This isn’t the first time I have document a wedding a Rock Creek Garden, I document Anica & Sam’s wedding in the summer of 2018.
I was so excited to head back to Rock Creek Garden but with an October wedding there is always a chance of rain BUT the weather gods gave us a break! So their first look, ceremony, and all the portraits were outside! It did rain but not till the reception was almost over.
When we were planning the wedding Emily was very set on not doing a first look, I am all for giving my clients what they want but in October we lose the sun around dinner time instead of later like a summer wedding. After talking it out Emily trusted me and we did the first look, so we could do a majority of their photos before the ceremony. I made sure to make the first look very special where they did private vows to each other than during the ceremony they did the normal repeat after I vowes.
After their ceremony, we did a few more portraits of them then it was time to party! Their reception was full of great speeches, the shoe game, and some emotional dances including a tear mother-son dance. Emily and Broderick danced the night away with their guest, the last thing we did the sparkler send-off! It was such a great way to end my 2019 wedding season!
