Seattle Courthouse Wedding
Abigail and Thomas contacted after I photographed her best friend Meg & Adam’s backyard wedding back in June. Thomas is from Denmark and they were originally planning a garden wedding in Denmark but due to the immigration process it was easier for them to get married here in the US since that was where they would be returning to after getting married. So they decided on a courthouse wedding at the Federal Courthouse in Downtown Seattle and a small reception for their friends and family at Daniel’s Broiler on Lake Union.
We started with their first look at Snoqualmie Falls then headed to downtown Seattle for their ceremony at the Seattle courthouse wedding. They both had their immediate families present for their ceremony.After their ceremony I wanted to get a few photos of the couple on the streets in Abigail’s stunning dress! Then we all headed to Daniel’s Broiler on Lake Union for more photos and their small reception for their friends and family.
So on a funny side note Abigail warned me that Thomas doesn’t smile for photos if asked it has to be a natural accordance or if he doesn’t know he was being photographed and she was OK with that since that is who he is. SO my personal goal was to get him smiling at the camera once, and I succeeded so I have to say that was icing on the cake of a perfect wedding day!

wow! When I saw “Seattle Courthouse Wedding”, I was not expecting something so breathtaking! Most courthouse weddings are very simple, but this bride is absolutely gorgeous. I could look at her wedding dress all day long. Gorgeous.

I love when weddings are big and over the top, but I also love when it’s just about the couple and their friends. This was a beautiful and romantic wedding for this new Seattle couple! I just adore these! The perfect example of how, just because you are getting married in a courthouse doesn’t mean you dont have to have stunning wedding photography to commemorate! I’m sure this Seattle couple will enjoy these for years and years.
I have seen more and more courthouse weddings popping up lately and they certainly are more upscale these days! I love how you did this couple’s first look at the Snoqualmie Falls before their ceremony. It really lends to making this wedding feel personal. And you were absolutely right!
