The Kelley Farm Wedding

Weddings

The Kelley Farm has been on my list of venues I was really wanted to document a wedding at. So when Lindsey and DJ reached out in August 2019 about their summer wedding at The Kelley Farm I was so excited to be part of it. Well as we all know Covid put a wrench in the plans for a wedding ceremony and reception, but thankfully the couple could still do a ceremony with 30 people at Kelley Farm and pushed their reception to the summer of 2021. So the couple was able to get all the parts of the wedding documented minus the reception.

Because the couple was not having a reception but didn’t cancel all the florals they were going to use that day their ceremony was decorated so beautifully by Oak and Fig Floral! The day was also coordinated by Elegant Affairs who helped make the day move very smoothly. The couple wrote notes to each other that they exchanged before their first look. But first Lindsey wanted to do a first look with her Dad, it was a very sweet moment. After her first look with her Dad, it was time for Lindsey and DJ’s first look. To make it private we did it on the backside of the barn at Kelley Farm.

We kept their portraits to a minimum as the couple planned on doing golden hours portraits after the ceremony. Family and wedding party portraits followed then it was time for the ceremony. The couple did a zoom video (my first but not last) for all the guest that couldn’t come. What I think is kinda ironic that just a year ago live streaming your wedding seemed odd or taboo, now it’s essential and very much encouraged or wanted. It just shows the sign of the times we are living in now.

After the ceremony, the couple enjoyed toasts with their friends and family who were able to attend the ceremony. After some funny and sweet moments, it was time for the couple’s golden hour portraits. And did we get a golden hour! The light was so beautiful that night, I was seriously in photo heaven with all that beautiful light we had!

At the end of their, time at the Kelley Farm Lindsey and DJ did their first dance, it was private and super sweet on the patio next to the barn. It was such a wonderful day and I am so happy the couple could still get married at their venue on their original day. Next summer I hope the couple can have a big party to celebrate with all their family and friends who were not able to attend.
